WEBSTER – Dorothy L. “Dottie” (Strzelewicz) Putnam, 84, died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at home surrounded by her family after an illness. Her husband of 45 years, Russell F. Putnam, died in 2000. She leaves a daughter, Deborah D. Bell and her husband James of Webster; a granddaughter, Rachael K. Bell of Webster; a beloved childhood friend, Marion Jaskolski of Dudley; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Chester, Joseph and William Strzelewicz, Jr. She was born at the family home in Webster, daughter of William F. Strzelewicz, Sr. and Katherine (Plaszewski) Strzelewicz, and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Bartlett High School. Mrs. Putnam was a switchboard operator for New England Telephone in Webster for more than 10 years and later at Hubbard Regional Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. The funeral will be held Friday, April 19, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 7:00 Thursday, April 18, in the funeral home.
