WEBSTER – David W. Burgess, 62, of Webster, died Saturday, November 3, 2012 in UMass/Memorial Hospital, Worcester with his loving wife at his side, following his long and courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Denise A. (Para) Burgess; and by two daughters, Michelle E. Jodrey and her husband Christopher of Dayville, CT and Kim M. Wigglesworth and her husband Scott of North Grosvenordale, CT. He was predeceased by one-day old twin brothers. Born in Worcester, he was the son of Norman and Edna (Wall) Burgess and was a lifelong resident of Webster. He graduated from Woodstock Academy in 1968, attended Worcester State College and completed the course of study at the New England Fuel Institute, obtaining licenses as a gas fitter, oil burner technician, master pipe fitter, and air conditioning and refrigeration technician. He retired as a gas fitter from Arrow Gas in Rochdale in 2009. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 170 for over 30 years. He was a lifelong member of the Webster Lodge of Masons A. F. & A. M. David loved camping in his motor home with his family and friends. He liked vacationing at Myrtle Beach and the Florida seacoast. He enjoyed music, carpentry and Ford Mustangs. He had a fondness for animals, especially those in need: he adopted four animals in his lifetime. He loved his family and friends and had a smiling personality which drew many people to him during his life. There will be a memorial Eucharist on Tuesday, November 13 at 11:00 AM in the Church of the Reconciliation, 5 North Main Street, Webster. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Humane Society of the United States, 2100 L Street NW, Washington, DC 20037 (humanesociety.org). (Embair) Chartier; 3 sons, Richard M. & Patricia Chartier, Douglas J. & Tami Chartier all of Webster, Edward G. Chartier of West Boylston; a daughter, Tina M. Chartier of Webster; 12 grandchildren, Philip, Savannah, Christopher, Justin, Ashley, Jasmine, Quentin, Hannah, Elexis, Zachary, Jaden & Destiny; 4 great grandchildren, Brandon, Jordan, Dravyn & Amaya; 2 sisters, Shirley Washburn and Joyce Sergeant both of Claremont, New Hampshire. He was predeceased by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. He was born in Newport, New Hampshire a son of Louis P. & Delia (Henault) Chartier. He was a graduate of Steven’s High School in Claremont, New Hampshire. Mr. Chartier was employed for 38 years as a transfer operator with Leggett & Platt in Oxford, retiring in 2010. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed fishing, puzzle books, gardening and playing cribbage. There are no services. WEBSTER – Arthur A. “Tookie” Toukonen, 71, of Webster, died Thursday, November 22, in UMass/Memorial Healthcare, Worcester. He leaves his wife of 50 years, Patricia A. (Gatzke) Toukonen; 2 daughters, Donna M. Toukonen-Nolan and her husband James of Oxford and Karen J. Toukonen of Worcester; 8 grandchildren, Kristin, Heather and Hollie Toukonen, James Nolan III, and Nicole, Jessica, Meaghan and Cristian Nolan; 2 great grandchildren, Alexavier and Gabriel; nephews and nieces. He was born and raised in Southbridge. He was a graduate of Mary E. Wells High School in Southbridge where he played defensive lineman for the varsity football team. He also was a soloist in the Embers Band for 5 years. Mr. Toukonen was first a mechanic at the American Optical Company in Southbridge for many years and then at Schotts Fiber Optics, also in Southbridge, until he retired. He was an EMT for the Webster Rescue & Ambulance Squad in the late 1980’s. He served as the dispatcher for the Webster Fire Department for several years. He belonged to the American Optical Quarter Century Club. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, November 27, from 4:00 to 7:00 in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street. Worcester Felicia C. Tanona , 95, of Waterford Drive, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 30, 2012 in her home. She leaves a brother; Robert V. Tanona and his wife Patricia of Scottsdale, AZ., 2 nieces; Lisa Sullivan Lacharite and Leah Sullivan, grandnieces; Ashley Chirnside Ely, Emma and Katie Chirnside and a grand nephew;Joshua Beers. Felicia also leaves behind her good friends and caregivers; Angela Finne, Elizabeth Negron, Grant Peterson and Jennifer Oliva. She was born in Worcester a daughter of Michael and Josephine (Klewiec) Tanona on November 16, 1917. Felicia was predeceased by her brothers and sisters; Sophia ‘Sally’,Michael, William and his wife Doris, Charles, Vincent and Alice. She worked for over 25 years for the U. S. Foreign Service and was stationed all over the world and retired 30 years ago. Her favorite place was Rome, Italy. Felicia was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, she graduated from St. Mary’s School, Becker College and later Worcester State College. She also spoke 6 languages and enjoyed travelling. Felicia’s Funeral will be Tuesday, December 4, 2012 with a Mass at 10 AM at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. WEBSTER – Marino A. Zordan, 87, formerly of Myrtle Avenue, died peacefully in his sleep Saturday, December 1, 2012 in Parsons Hill Nursing & Rehab Center, Worcester. His wife of 55 years, Mary A. (Kralik) Zordan, died in 1999. He leaves 2 daughters, Linda L. Ready and her husband Timothy of Salem and Mary Jane Standrowicz and her husband Peter of North Oxford; 7 grandchildren, Linda Russo, Donald and Daniel Zordan, Jeffery Standrowicz and his wife Jodi, Gwen Carelli and her husband Steven, James Ready and his wife Jennifer, and Christopher Ready; 9 great-grandchildren, Christina, Sean, Michael, David, Luke, Zachary, Amelia, Cora and Maren; a great-greatgranddaughter Hailey; a sister-in-law, Madeline Zordan of Torrington, CT; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald M. Zordan, in 1999. He was born and raised in Torrington, CT the youngest of the 6 children of Candido and Palma (Nardi) Zordan and moved to Webster in 1947. He attended Torrington High School. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving as an armed guard on the Liberty Ships SS Theodoric Bland and SS Pawnee Rock. He was a member of the Webster-Dudley American Legion Post #184 and also a life member and past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #654. He was chosen to be the Grand Marshall for the Webster Memorial Day parade in 2007. Mr. Zordan was a weaver at local woolen mills. He then delivered oil for Cam’s Oil in Webster. He also worked in maintenance for Table Talk Pies in Worcester before retiring in 1989. He was a member of Saint Anthony of Padua Church in Dudley. The funeral will be held Thursday, December 6, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Road, Dudley. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. The Webster-Dudley Veterans Council will provide the military honors at the cemetery. She leaves 3 sons, Paul Ondrasek , and John Ondrasek and his wife Irene, all of Webster, and David Ondrasek and his wife Renee of Thompson, CT; a granddaughter, Shannon Ondrasek of Webster; 5 grandsons, Michael Ondrasek of Medway, Matthew Ondrasek of Webster, Mark Ondrasek of Dudley, and Brandon and Christopher Ondrasek, both of Thompson, CT. She also leaves her cat Mitzy. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kelly Ondrasek and by her brother, Archie C. Domey. Born and raised in Webster, daughter of Leondre and Roseanna (Guerin) Domey, she graduated from Saint Anne’s School commercial course. She worked at Cranston Print Works Company in Webster, Mechanics Bank in Worcester and retired in 1995 from MacKinnon Training Center in Southbridge. She enjoyed painting, crocheting, fishing, reading, working in her flower garden and going to yard sales. Donald Michaels, of Webster, died Wednesday, December 5th in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, Worcester. He leaves his twin sister, Donna M. Macduff and her husband Edward, with whom he lived; and his beloved cats, Bernard, Bernie, and Charlie. He was born in Worcester, the son of Anthony and Margaret (Usket) Michaels and worked for University of Massachusetts Hospital, now UMass Memorial for 26 years, retiring in May due to illness. Donald lived out his strong beliefs. He worshipped nature with its beauty and its relation to humankind. He was a lifelong vegetarian who felt that no harm should come to anything if it walks, flies, or swims. Another belief was his work ethic; He often said, “A bad day at work is better than no work-appreciate what you have.” Donald’s family is very grateful to the VNA Care Hospice for their compassionate home care and to Donald’s coworkers at UMass for their constant care and concern during his illness. The funeral is Saturday, December 8th, with a service at 10:00 A.M. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Webster – Rachel B. (Beloin) Lestage, 83, of Webster and a longtime Worcester resident died on Tuesday, November 27th in the Lanessa Extended Care Center. Rachel was married to Albert A. Lestage who died in 1995. She was born in West Stewartstown, NH daughter of the late Thomas and Genevra (Martin) Beloin and is predeceased by a son, Maurice R. Lestage of Colbrook, NH who died in 1994. Mrs. Lestage is survived by a brother, Raymond Beloin of Florida; two sisters, Lorraine Packard of MA and Constance Jackson of Canaan, VT as well as many nephews and nieces. Rachel worked for 18 years as a Data Entry Clerk at Memorial Hospital, Hahnemann Hospital and retired from UMass Medical Center on Lake Avenue in 1986. WEBSTER – Bernard R. “Bernie” Duclos, 90, of Webster died Saturday, December 8, 2012 in Rose Monahan Hospice Home, Worcester, after a short illness. His first wife of 47 years, Joan R. “Jenny” (Gorski) Duclos died in 1998. His second wife of 10 years, Mae (Hermanson) Duclos, died in 2011. He leaves 2 sons, Michael B. Duclos and his wife Julia Khorana of Stow, and Kenneth B. Duclos and his wife Rita of New Hartford, CT; 2 sisters, Muriel Mayotte of North Grosvenordale, CT and Jeanne Kwiatkowski of Dudley; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Brezniak. He was born in Webster, the son of Henry J. and Beatrice (Berard) Duclos and lived here most of his life. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1941. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Ardennes and in the Rhineland and was awarded 2 bronze stars. He was a life member of the W. J. “Tiff” Szynal Post #53 of the Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Duclos worked for New England Telephone in Webster for 30 years, retiring in 1984. Previously he was employed at local textile mills and at the American Optical Company in Southbridge. He was a member of Saint Louis Church. He enjoyed traveling. The funeral will be held Friday, December 14, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Louis Church, 14 Lake Street. Klebart, Sr. died in 2004. She leaves a son; Steven K. Baker of Amesbury, a grandson, Cameron Baker, a step-son; Thomas T. Klebart and his wife Rena of Webster and a step-daughter Elizabeth M. Caplette and her husband Robert of Webster and grandchildren: Thomas, George, Elizabeth and Shannon and 3 great grandchildren. Louise was predeceased by a sister; Beverly A. Murray and a brother; Warren C. Higgins, and 2 step-sons; John C. Klebart and William A. R. Klebart, Jr. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Walter E. and Lily T. (Higgins) Kent and lived in Worcester for many years prior to moving to Webster and Newburyport. She worked for many years with her husband Bill at the former Klebart Plumbing Supply in Webster. Louise was a member of the United Church of Christ, Federated, she enjoyed traveling, beaches, gardening and trips to Maine. There are no calling hours. She was born in Slemien, Poland, a daughter of Jozef and Teresa (Stanik) Widuch and came to the United States over 20 years ago. Zyta was a Registered Nurse in Poland for many years. Dudley William E. “Bill” Meehan, 84, of Oakwood Ave., passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 in the Southbridge Rehabilitation and Health Center in Southbridge. He leaves his wife of 60 years, Mary A. (Doherty) Meehan, a daughter Jane M. wife of William R. Tittle of Dudley, 4 sons; Paul W. Meehan and David A. Meehan and his companion Keena both of Webster, John F. Meehan and his wife Dawn, and Thomas M. Meehan both of Dudley. He also leaves a sister; Florence Mullany of Great Barrington, 6 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and his Springer Spaniel “Maggie”. Bill was born in Webster son of Francis and Regina (Phoenix) Meehan and lived in Webster and Dudley all his life. He served in the Army during WWII, with the occupation forces in Japan. Bill worked for 28 years at the former P. Wajer Express Co, where he retired. Prior to that he worked at the former Deary Bros. Milk Co. After his retirement he worked as a funeral assistant at the Robert J. Miller Funerals Homes for many years. Bill was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church and was a Eucharistic Minister at the church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of Teamsters Local 170, a former Dudley Little League coach, a former Boy Scout leader at St. Louis parish. He loved to travel to Ireland and throughout Europe, the U.S. National Parks and Alaska. Bill also enjoyed spending summers in Dennis on Cape Cod. Bill’s Funeral will be Wednesday, December 19, 2012 with a Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Rd. in Dudley, burial will be at a later date in St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Webster. Champagne, Jr., died in 2003. She leaves a stepson, Hector J. Champagne III of New York, NY; 3 stepdaughters, Margaret Spence of Archer, FL, Marie Charbonneau of Webster, and Marcelle Champagne of Auburn; a brother, Joseph A. Jablonski and his fiancée Darlene Welch of Gardner; 8 grandchildren, Michelle Maloy, Thomas Gadbois, Corrine Charbonneau, Casey Charbonneau, Eric Miller, Chantal Miller, Stephanie Champagne-Mason and Hector J. Champagne IV; 3 great grandchildren, Cameron Gaboury, Molly Gadbois and Lilly Gadbois; a close friend of many years Louise; nieces and nephews. Born in Webster, she was the daughter of Anthony and Frances (Smith) Jablonski and lived in Webster most of her life. From 1994 to 2003, she resided in Salisbury. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1964. Mrs. Champagne first worked at Cranston Print Works Company. She then was a certified nurse’s assistant at Webster Manor and at Lanessa Extended Care. She was a receptionist at the Seabrook (NH) Greyhound Park for 9 years. She was a member of Saint Louis Church. She was involved in both greyhound rescue and in Toys for Tots. A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, December 22, at 10:00 AM in St. Louis Church, 14 Lake Street. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Worcester Fernando A. Mariscal, 69, of Upsala St., passed away Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Wachusett Health Care in Holden. His wife, Dorila C. (Duran) Mariscal died in 1991. He leaves a son; Douglas F. Mariscal and his wife Siobhan of Worcester, his mother; Carlotta Mariscal of Guayaqil, Ecuador, two brothers ; Guillermo and Franklin and a sister Corlotta all of Ecuador, 4 grandchildren; Brittany, Tatiana, Eathyn and Lillian, many cousins and family friends in MA.,N.Y.,N.C., and Ecuador. Fernando was predeceased by his father, Orlando and a brother Carlos. He was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador and came to New York in 1969 and moved to Worcester in 1976. He worked at the former Worcester Envelope Co. for 20 years and AccuCom in Leominster from 1997 to 2006 where he retired. He had a passion for cars and enjoyed watching soccer. Fernando loved traveling back to his native country Ecuador. The family would also like to Thank the staff at Park View Hospital for the care given Fernando. WEBSTER – Theresa M. (Renzoni) Ruggeri, 95, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 1, 2013 in Webster Manor. Her husband of 25 years, Elio Ruggeri, died in 1964. She leaves a son, Edward J. Ruggeri of Dudley; 2 grandchildren, Heidi Ruggeri of Webster and Mark Ruggeri and his wife Leslee of Woodstock, CT; 2 great granddaughters, Mariangela and Mia Ruggeri, also of Woodstock, CT; and her best friend and caregiver, Joan Rowe of Webster. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Denyse E. (Puliafico) Ruggeri, by her granddaughter Rebecca D. Ruggeri, by her sister Benedetta Santos and by her brother Robert Renzoni. She was born in Derby, CT, the daughter of Alfred and Aida (Genovese) Renzoni and lived in New London until moving to Webster when she married. She was a high school graduate and completed courses at Connecticut College. Mrs. Ruggeri was a cashier at the family’s Pleasant Street Market before retiring. She was a member of Saint Louis Church. She enjoyed knitting and traveling. The funeral will be held Saturday, January 5, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Dudley. Calling hours will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, January 4, in the funeral home. WEBSTER – Water D. Benoit, 96, died Saturday, January 5, 2013 in Webster Manor. He leaves his wife of 75 years, Jennie A. (Ondrasek) Benoit; 2 daughters, Janet M. O’Connell and her husband James of Shawnee, KS and Deborah A. Moran and her husband Michael of Webster; 3 grandchildren, Heather Forrester-Hall and her husband Michael Hall of Webster, John O’Connell of Snohomish, WA and Matthew O’Connell of Sunrise Shores, MO; 3 great-grandchildren, Camden Hall of Webster, and Avery and Reed O’Connell, both of Sunrise Shores, MO; nephews and nieces. He was born in Webster, one of the 9 children of Alfred and Melina (Gerard) Benoit and was a lifelong resident. Mr. Benoit was a forger at Wyman-Gordon in Grafton for many years before he retired in 1978. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and played in its pitch league for many years. He enjoyed outside work, woodworking and country music. The funeral will be held Wednesday, January 9, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. A calling period will be from 8:30 to 9:30 AM Wednesday in the funeral home. Hudson, MA Richard L. Thibeault, 80, a long time resident of Hudson, died on Friday, Jan. 11th at Marlboro Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Katherine P. (Drudy) Thibeault of Hudson. Richard was born and raised in Somerville, son of the late Lawrence and Verna (Ross) Thibeault. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1951 until being honorably discharged in 1954. He was an accomplished chef for many years at Boston University and later was employed as a chef at the Raytheon Company cafeteria in Marlboro. Richard took great pride in his career as a chef, he enjoyed the many summers he spent as a chef at the Adams Pond Boy Scout Camp in New Hampshire. He enjoyed spending time with family and especially looked forward to attending his children’s sporting events throughout their youth and high school careers. He was a member of the Hudson Lodge of Elks and member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, James Thibeault of Marlboro, Joni Turner and her husband Paul of Webster, Mark Thibeault and his wife Donna of Hudson and Matthew Thibeault of Webster. He is also survived by his two sisters, Annette Vinning and her husband Charles of Medford, Jane Reid of North Carlona; his five loving grandchildren, Elizabeth, Shawn and Ryan Turner, Gregory and Melanie Thibeault; his great grandson, Kaden Romanik and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may attend a calling hour on Monday, Jan. 14th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 followed by a service and celebration of Richard’s life on Monday, Jan. 14th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
